Team USA Defeats Serbia in Olympic Semifinals
Star-Studded Rally Leads to 95-91 Victory
Despite trailing for the majority of the game, Team USA rallied to secure a spot in the gold medal match.
In a thrilling Olympic semifinal matchup, Team USA overcame a 17-point deficit to defeat Serbia 95-91 on Thursday. The Americans led for just 3 minutes and 25 seconds of the game, but a late surge led by Stephen Curry and Bam Adebayo propelled them to victory.
Curry paced Team USA with 24 points, six three-pointers, and three rebounds, while Adebayo contributed 17 points, three three-pointers, and eight rebounds. Serbia, led by Nikola Jokic's 29 points and 11 rebounds, held an 11-point advantage late in the third quarter.
However, Team USA turned the tide with a 12-0 run to close out the third quarter, and they never trailed again. Curry and Adebayo combined for 15 points in the fourth quarter to seal the victory.
With the win, Team USA advances to the gold medal game where they will face either Spain or Slovenia. The championship game is scheduled for Saturday.
