NFL Draft 2024: Every Pick in the First Round
Round 1
1. Chicago Bears (via Carolina) - Caleb Williams, QB (USC)
The Bears traded up to the No. 1 spot to select Williams, who is widely considered to be the best quarterback prospect in the draft. Williams is a dynamic playmaker with a strong arm and excellent mobility. He led USC to an 11-2 record and a Pac-12 championship in 2023.
2. Houston Texans - Bryce Young, QB (Alabama)
The Texans also traded up to the No. 2 spot to select Young, another highly touted quarterback prospect. Young is a more polished passer than Williams, but he lacks the same level of athleticism. He led Alabama to a 13-1 record and a College Football Playoff appearance in 2023.
3. Indianapolis Colts - Anthony Richardson, QB (Florida)
The Colts need a franchise quarterback, and they believe Richardson has the potential to be that guy. Richardson is a physical specimen with a rocket arm and good mobility. He needs to develop more consistency as a passer, but he has all the tools to be a star.
4. Arizona Cardinals - Will Levis, QB (Kentucky)
The Cardinals have a lot of holes on their roster, but they decided to address their biggest need by drafting Levis. Levis is a big, strong quarterback with a good arm and good mobility. He needs to improve his decision-making, but he has the potential to be a franchise quarterback.
5. Philadelphia Eagles (via Saints) - Jalen Carter, DT (Georgia)
The Eagles traded up to the No. 5 spot to select Carter, who is widely considered to be the best defensive player in the draft. Carter is a disruptive force in the middle of the defensive line. He can generate pressure on the quarterback and stop the run.
